Arena Leisure Jockey's All-Weather Championships
Attention may turn to the all-weather season slightly earlier this season as challenging weather is already affecting the turf.
Arena Leisure is pleased to announce the Jockey's All-Weather Championships is back. The Jockey riding the most winners on the all-weather this season will receive £10,000 and the runner up £5,000. The Arena Leisure Championship will take place at Lingfield Park,Wolverhampton, Southwell and include Kempton from the start of the winter flat season Monday 8th November up to and including Winter Derby Day at Lingfield Park, where the presentation will take place.
Kate Hills, Director of PR at Arena said, "We are very pleased to bring back the jockey's championship, it has been very popular in the past. We wanted to put something in place to reward the jockeys during the winter months and it gives the season another focus. The Racing Post does a great job accumulating all the statistics which everyone can follow and providing we have an outright winner, we will present the cheques on Winter Derby Day Saturday 26th March at Lingfield Park".
Arena has also added some loyalty schemes at their three all-weather tracks, trainers who run the most horses at each track in a month will win a hospitality package for up to ten people, starting from January through to March. Terms and conditions apply.
Southwell Racecourse is pleased to introduce a new loyalty scheme for trainers for the winter flat season. The trainer with the most runners at Southwell during each month starting with January, then February and then March will win a hospitality package for up to ten people at the racecourse. The scheme starts on 1st January and the first winner will be announced on 31st January. The competition will then start again for February and then again in March. The hospitality prize will be arranged with the racecourse and the winning trainer each month. The racecourse will keep a count of each trainer's actual runners (not to include entries or non-runners) and announce the winner at the last race meeting in the month.
