Getting to the Racecourse

There are a multitude of ways to travel to Southwell Racecourse. When we asked Mike Parcej, a friend of the racecourse and passionate horse racing fan, here's what he had to say:

"Rolleston Station is adjoining the track, on the line from Nottingham to Newark. The problem is it appears that all weekday services don't stop there - presumably they stop especially on race days, please check with East Midlands Trains for clarification. There is a rail service from Nottingham to Rolleston at 11.25 on Sundays. However there is an excellent and very frequent bus service from Nottingham to Southwell seven days a week, This is the No. 26 service from stop K1 at Nottingham Bus Station. There is also a very infrequent bus service from Newark, the No. 28 (on the London to Edinburgh line) an 8.05am in the morning would leave you waiting a fair while for Gates Open!! Nottingham is on the London to Sheffield services from St, Pancras, and has a service from Cardiff and Birmingham that potters along at its own leisurely pace. The taxi in Southwell is Minster five 2's on 01636 525252. Approx two miles to the course."
