Southwell Racecourse’s hugely popular Advertiser Ladies Day returns in 2023 on Sunday 20th August, confirmed to DJ live after racing is English radio DJ, television presenter and actor Scott Mills! One of the most recognisable voices on the airwaves, Scott was a host on BBC Radio 1 for 24 years and has now joined the daytime schedule on BBC Radio 2.
The annual raceday, which is always the biggest day of the year at Southwell, offers racegoers thrilling racing, sensational style and delicious food, plus live entertainment after racing with a DJ set from Scott Mills which will keep the party going long after the last race.
As well as Scott Mills’ DJ set, chic outfits and beautiful hats will be in abundance as racegoers put their best shoe forward to impress the judges of the Style Awards; with the winning outfit taking home a great prize – £500 cash!
NEW for 2023 is the Sherwood Hideaway. Situated with an elevated view over the whole of the Parade Ring, guests will have the very best view of the horses before racing, making it even easier to pick a winner! This new, alternative facility will ensure a day, in close proximity to all the action, but offer a quieter location to be based through the day, with reserved toilets, bar facilities and more.

Working with one of the most entertaining DJs in the UK will extend the party atmosphere well beyond the last race. The Style Award £500 cash prize was keenly contested in last year’s heat, and we are once again hoping for a hotly contested competition. This year the main site is being extended for the first time into the centre of the racecourse, with the newly developed Winning Post Marquee Restaurant and Private Chalets. The best view in the house!”
