We do all we can at Southwell Racecourse to ensure our venue is accessible for all. We want everyone to have the best day or evening out with us come rain or shine so we have put accessibility at the heart of what we do so there is fun for everyone.
There are a number of measures we have put in place already which you can see. More detail of below. We also offer car parking spaces for individuals with accessible needs in car parks A and B.
Registered Guide dogs, Hearing dogs and medical alert dogs are welcome on site. However, please ensure they are always kept on a lead. Water will be available for any assistance dog from any catering outlet around the racecourse.
We have a big screen which is visible from most areas on the front of the Grandstand. All viewing areas are on hard standing, with the pre-parade ring and parade ring offering ample viewing.

Personal Assistants will receive free admission to the racecourse when accompanying a paying guest with accessible needs. Personal assistants are also welcome to use the dedicated viewing platforms, one overlooking the track and the other by the Winners Enclosure. There is seating available on each.
Personal Assistant tickets can be claimed by bringing in proof of accessible needs on the day of racing e.g. a Blue Badge (with accompanying photo ID), Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or signed letter from GP (with accompanying photo ID).
The guest with accessibility needs will need to buy a full price ticket first either online or on the day and then speak to a member of staff on the turnstiles about claiming the free personal assistant badge.
Wheelchair viewing ramps are located on trackside close to the horse walk and overlooking the winner's enclosure and parade ring so you never miss any of the action. There are more overlooking the parade ring on the other side of the Grandstand.
All ground floor facilities (including the whole of the Grandstand enclosure) are accessible. Accessible toilets are situated in the betting hall, food court and on the rear of the Food Pantry.
Lift access is available to access the first floor restaurant. There is a viewing balcony on the first floor and an accessible toilet.
We also have lift access to the first floor of the Grandstand, allowing for fantastic views overlooking the racecourse and the parade ring from the Seasons Restaurant, Minster Suite and Owners and Trainers Suite.
